International Linguistics Olympiad

As the organizer, we are committed to leading young linguists from Macau onto the global stage, showcasing their talents and learning about linguistics.

Event Background

• The International Olympiad in Linguistics (IOL) has been successfully held 20 times since its establishment in 2003, attracting participation from over 40 countries.
• IOL is highly recognized by prestigious universities worldwide and has received strong endorsements from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
• In 2025, the IOL will be held in Taiwan, known for its linguistic diversity, offering participants a memorable blend of intellectual and cultural exploration.

Taipei, Taiwan, has been selected as the host city for the 22nd International Olympiad in Linguistics, which will take place from July 20 to 27, 2025
